IC Spain aims to defend Potter Cup title

The recent ATP Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell was the location of the draw for the forthcoming edition of the Potter Cup, the international team competition for veterans which is due to be held at Barcelona’s RC Polo. The meeting was held on 23rd April and was presided over by Potter Cup President Marco Gilardelli.

 

Also present at the meeting were IC Spain President Juan María Tintoré, José Luis Arilla (IC Spain), Joan Navarro (Catalan Tennis federation), José Ramón Gispert (RC Polo), J.I. Soler Cabot (RCT Barcelona-1899), Pere Torras (Catalan Tennis Federation) and Berta Tintoré, director of the Potter Cup.

 

The teams due to participate in this 40th edition of the competition are as follows; IC France, IC Italy, IC Belgium, IC USA, IC Luxembourg, IC Great Britain, IC Ireland, IC Germany and IC Spain, the winners of last year’s title.

 

The Spanish team will be seeded #1 (followed by IC Italy), and will be captained by Miguel Mir and comprised of the following players; Jordi Arrese, David de Miguel, Santiago Tintoré, Carlos Costa, Frans Castellá, Francisco García, Miguel Puigdevall, Eduardo Osta and Fernando Luna.
